I love simple, all-natural home recipes like this DIY body scrub! They’re so easy to create and it’s a fantastic way to weave a little self care into your days.

This particular project is also great because you can make a whole bunch at once and gift it to friends, share as a favor at wedding or baby showers, or even sell in a shop.

DIY Body Scrubs with Essential Oils

While you can absolutely make this DIY body scrub without scent, it’s extra nice with a little added essential oil!

Adding essential oils to the scrub does double duty. It creates a custom scent that you love, and it enhances the scrub with a little added moisturizing benefit.

If you’re adding essential oils, be sure that you choose oils that are beneficial for the skin and that you don’t have any sensitivities to.

Use Cricut to Make Custom Labels for Your DIY Body Scrub

What really takes this project over the top is the custom label we created for it! We used our favorite crafting tool, the Cricut machine, to quickly and easily design and cut pretty adhesive labels for the jars.

Using a Cricut makes it so simple to add a polished and pretty finish to any project. And with a DIY body scrub like this one, you can customize it in so many ways.

Try making labels in various colors or vinyl finishes, or adding a logo instead of words.

You could even make custom labels with the guest of honor’s name at a shower or the couple’s names at a wedding!

Customizing Your DIY Body Scrub

We talked a little earlier about adding essential oils to your DIY body scrub, but there are lots of other ways to customize your body scrub as well!

  • Add a little mica for a subtle shimmer
  • Try brown sugar instead of granulated sugar
  • Add coffee grounds to create a coffee scrub
  • Top your DIY body scrub with dried botanicals like rose petals to add some visual interest

Supplies You’ll Need

While I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 for this project, you can use other Cricut cutting machines that you might have. You can read our full breakdown of Cricut machines and which one might be right for you.

You can also make labels in bulk if you’re creating this DIY body scrub for favors, gifts, or even to sell!

How to Add a Custom Cricut Label

Now that you have some amazing DIY rose body scrub, add some pretty labels! It’s a perfect way to customize your DIY body scrub to give as gifts.

  1. Open a new file in Cricut Design Space. Browse the Cricut fonts and find something you love!
  2. Size the pattern to the size of your jar lid.
  3. Click “Make It” and proceed through the prompts on Design Space to choose the Cricut machine that you’re using, and the appropriate materials. The software will prompt you to insert your materials into the machine. Click “Go” and it will cut!
  4. Once cut, weed out the excess vinyl. For a project of this size, if you’re transferring your vinyl like we did you may not need transfer tape (it’s more like adding a sticker to your jar lid). However, if you want to create a different type of label (kind of like this candle), follow the instructions below.
  5. Place transfer tape over your weeded Cricut design. Burnish. Pull the transfer tape back slowly, and the vinyl should come with the tape. Then place the tape with vinyl over your jar exterior and press onto the candle.
  6. Carefully pull away the transfer tape and smooth your vinyl onto the jar!
